AI Assistant @ Close
Chloe is Close's AI assistant, built directly into the CRM. Users can ask questions in plain language and get answers grounded in their own data.
She can search leads and activities, pull reports and tables, draft emails and notes, update records, and explain how to use Close, all without leaving the page someone is working on. As of June 2026, it is currently in beta.

Background
In late 2025, Close decided to go all-in on AI. The original intention was to have users interact with one interface (Chloe), but after user feedback and testing, we determined that the one-layer interface should be split into two:
Agents (voice and custom)
An AI assistant
I was tasked with taking over the work for Close's AI assistant in April 2026. We released Chloe for beta in June 2026 and are planning a release to GA in October 2026.
This is still an ongoing project.
Results
Since it was released for beta, we have seen a 61.3% increase in weekly users, with a user satisfaction rating of 79%. The average session between a user and Chloe Chat has been ~5.2min.

Overview
Chloe is Close's AI assistant, built to help sales teams move faster inside the CRM.
I focused on two areas: refining the core chat experience so it feels native to Close, and designing how users give Chloe the context she needs to be useful.
Context turned out to be the harder problem. An AI assistant is only as good as what it knows, and users pull information from everywhere: other tools, documents, and repeatable workflows.
I designed the ways users can connect external tools, attach files, and equip Chloe with reusable skills, with the goal of making each one feel lightweight enough to use mid-task rather than something to set up once and forget.
Chloe is currently in beta, so details are limited here. I'm happy to walk through the work in more depth in conversation.
